blueseventy staff “swim record holder”

Recently at British Masters Nationals blueseventy’s own Helen Gorman (40-44 Age Group) won the 50, 100 and 200metre breaststroke and the 100m and 200m IM. Helen was second in the 400IM (three seconds inside the old British record and coincidentally bested by an old University of Arkansas team mate!)

Warmup!

Helen continued to gather accolades breaking the European Masters record in the 200metres breast stroke by 4.7seconds in a time of 2:39.10. It had stood since 2008 to an Italian swimmer. Helen further broke her own British record in the 200m IM. Firing on all cylinders at the event Gorman was also 0.15 off the British records in the 100m IM and within half of second of the 50m and 100m so those are certain to be targeted again!

Helen pre-race

Helen wears the blueseventy neroXII in all her races, except the 100m IM in which she wore the orange neroTX as it is her club colour. Helen swims for Long Eaton Swimming Club, a small team in Derbyshire with some great swimmers and they own a world record in the 4x100m Medley relay from last year.

There were 1200 Masters swimmers at the Championships in Sheffield, it was one of the biggest masters meets ever in the UK and there were plenty of other medals and records in blueseventy nero suits, including the Sub160 (that's sub 160cm tall!) team in the 4x200m freestyle relay which broke the European Record all in blue neroTX, and Steve Mavin who won six gold medals including European and British relay records.
