blueseventy and ITU
blueseventy will become the official swim and wetsuit partner for three of the eight WTS events in 2014 beginning with the Discovery World Triathlon Cape Town this weekend. The global wetsuit company will also have a presence at the PruHealth World Triathlon London and the TransCanada Corp World Triathlon Grand Final Edmonton.
“bluseventy was a natural choice for us in terms of sponsorship, as they are already so engrained in the triathlon community,” said ITU President and IOC Member Marisol Casado. “blueseventy understands our sport and the need for top gear in order to produce maximum results.”
blueseventy CEO, Tim Moxey, said of the partnership, “With our goal of creating and refining products that empower swimmers to achieve their personal bests, working with the ITU World Triathlon Series allows us to interact with a broad skill range, from pro triathletes to those just starting out. One of the many benefits of this partnership for us is to have another avenue of feedback that will help us create the best products on the market.”
Now in its sixth season of competition, the 2014 ITU World Triathlon Series will feature three new stops that promise to make this year one of the most exciting to date. This weekend, the WTS will touch down in Africa for the first time ever with the highly anticipated launch of Cape Town on the schedule, while Chicago and Edmonton will also debut as WTS races.
The Series is the pinnacle circuit in the sport of triathlon and is a leading platform to promote an active lifestyle. All eight events are available live on TV to an international audience, as well as streamed online.
Lagardère Unlimited Events, the marketing agency of the ITU World Triathlon Series, brokered the partnership. Tim Stemp, Chief Commercial Officer of the WTS said, “The global growth of both the sport and the Series has created a varied and enthusiastic participant base. blueseventy creates excellent products and provides expertise to our audiences to meet their sporting aspirations. We look forward to working together on a global scale.”
