Tonks and Walker-Hebborn are #swimmingfaster

This year blueseventy has proudly backed Brit Chris Walker-Hebborn and Australian Lorna Tonks as ones to watch in the pool in 2014.

The pair recently competed for their respective nations at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland, where they collectively won 4 medals and broke 4 Games Records, all in nero14.

Chris broke the Games record twice on the way to gold in the 100 backstroke. He clocked a heat time of 53.30 before improving to 53.12 in the final, a time that would have earned him silver at the 2014 Phillips 66 US Nationals Champs.

He finished 00.47 ahead of Australian Champ Mitch Larkin in silver [53.59] and 50 backstroke world record holder Liam Tancock in bronze [53.75].

As reigning Australian Champion, Lorna continued the success in nero14 at the Games by powering her way to a silver medal in the 100 breaststroke [1:07.34].

Chris and Lorna topped off their Commonwealth individual medals with gold for the respective nations in the 4x100 medley relay in impressive new record times.

For their season finales Chris will compete at the European Championships in Berlin [13-24 August], while Lorna is looking ahead to Pan Pacs on the Gold Coast [21-24 August].
