Sponsorship Results: McDonald, Dye & Jorgensen Dominate

Chris "Big Sexy" McDonald (AUS) wins Ironman Lake Tahoe

A cold-front brought air temps down to around 40 degrees F (4 C) for the race beginning what was going to finish as a day with a high AG dropout rate.  Tahoe resides at over a mile in elevation and has a challenging amount of climbing on the bike. Chris, one of our sponsored athletes and coaches, soldiered on to his 6th Ironman win- taking the lead at mile 16 of the run from Mail Twelsiek (GER) who also swims in the Helix wetsuit.

On the women's side Cat Morrison (GBR) managed 3rd and Angela Naeth (CAN) 5th.  Both ladies are coming off races at 70.3 Worlds just 2 weeks ago.

Dye dominates Lifetime Fitness Tempe

Cam Dye (USA) took the title in Tempe with fellow blueseventy athletes J
ames Seear (AUS) and Ben Collins (USA) racing to 3rd and 5th in a highly competitive field.  Sara McLarty (USA) Exited the water with the Lauren Brandon (USA) making it a pair of blueseventy athletes leading but Sara faded a bit to place 4th at the finish and Lauren outside of the top 5.

At Rev3 Branson

Jennifer Spieldenner (USA) & Erik Limkemann led out of the water (it was a warm water swimskin event).  Jennifer raced herself to 2nd place and Erik 4th. Kevin Collington (USA) was near the front all day and was able to outrun all competitors except for Ben Hoffman- Kevin cruised to a 2nd place finish on the day.  Check out this Slowtwitch photo gallery showing our pz3tx and tx3000 apparel in action here:  Branson gallery

Triathlon in a casino parking lot you say?

Yes, anything is possible...  Gwen Jorgensen (USA) grabbed the title at the inaugural Super Sprint Grand Prix Triathlon last week during the Interbike trade show in Las Vegas. The triathlon was produced in a large casino parking lot with- portable pool, criterium style bike course - fast and furious action.  It was swim-bike-run x 2 and here is a  Slowtwitch photo gallery from the event.  Inspired by this Australian format - some hope to produce more of these in the future to make triathlon an increasingly spectator friendly sport.
